Day 01: Ahmedabad - Dasada
In the morning after having breakfast drive to Dasada. In the evening enjoy birding at Nawa Talao where large flocks of flamingos, Demmossile cranes, pelicans and other birds are seen in large numbers.
Day 02: Dasada - Rann of Kutch
In the morning and afternoon enjoy the safaris in the Little Rann of Kutch. An ancient seabed turned by geological forces into saline desert plains, the Rann has grassy patches that offer good bird-watching. Crested and Sykes larks, Oriental skylark, bimaculated lark, greater short-toed lark, singing and Indian bushlarks, ashy-crowned and black-crowned sparrow-larks, chestnut-bellied and spotted sandgrouse, Indian courser, quails, are some of the birds that would be seen here. At the sunset, it is possible to watch marsh, Montagu and pallid harriers, aquila eagles, falcons and buzzards heading for their roosting sites. Besides various birds various animals can also be seen in the Rann which are the wild ass, nilgai, chinkara, gazelle, white-footed desert, Indian foxes, the wolf, jungle cat (occasionally also desert cat), pale and long-eared hedgehogs and hare.
Day 03: Rann of Kutch
In the morning and afternoon enjoy the safaris in the Little Rann of Kutch.
Day 04: Rann of Kutch - Gondal
In the morning drive to Bajana Creek, a birders paradise on the edge of the Rann. Later drive to Gondal.
Day 05: Gondal - Sasan Gir
In the morning drive from Gondal to Sasan Gir. Gir is the last abode of the Asiatic lion and has a thriving population of Leopard, Sambar, Chital (spotted deer), Nilgai and Wild boar. Gir is also one of the major habitats of chousingha (the world’s only four-horned antelope) and chinkara (Indian gazelle). In the evening have Jeep Safari in the Sasan Gir National Park for bird and wildlife watching.
Day 06: Sasan Gir
In the morning and afternoon enjoy the jeep safari in National Park. Changeable hawk eagle, crested serpent eagle, Bonneli’s eagle, shaheen peregrene falcon, laggar falcon, shikra, painted sandgrouse, quails, black-hooded and golden oriels, marshall’s and common iora, Asian paradise flycatcher, tickell’s blue, red-throated, verditer and Asian brown flycatchers, yellow-crowned, brown-capped pygmy, black-rumped flameback woodpeckers, green and blue-cheeked bee-eaters, coppersmith barbet, common, lesser pied and white-throated kingfisher, blossom-headed parakeet, hoopoe, black, ashy and white-bellied drongos, rufous treepie, large cuckoo shrike are some of the birds that could also be seen here. In the evening have a nature walk with a birding guide to a riverside spot near Gir Birding Lodge. A good number of birds especially quails and passerines, can be seen in the bushes along the trail.
Day 07: Sasan Gir - Ahmedabad
In the morning after having breakfast you can have an optional ride in the Gir National Park (if wished so) or drive to Ahmedabad. Arrive in Ahmedabad by afternoon.
Day 08: Ahmedabad (Departure)
Around midnight transfer to the airport for the flight to home destination
